Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for real driver scenarios

If you don’t see your question, call us or request a coverage review — we’ll point you to the best option for your route and budget.

Do I need a medical exam?

Many drivers qualify for simplified/no-exam options depending on age, health, state, and coverage amount. We’ll show both exam and no-exam choices so you can compare price and speed. See what you may qualify for →

Does coverage follow me if I switch companies or routes?

Yes — a personal policy isn’t tied to your employer. If you change carriers, routes, or hours, your coverage can stay in place as long as premiums are paid.

I already have employer life insurance — do I still need my own policy?

Employer coverage can be a helpful base, but it may be limited and can change if you switch jobs or hours. Many drivers use a personal policy to fill the gap and keep coverage consistent.

Will my CDL impact eligibility?

Your CDL doesn’t automatically raise rates. Underwriting typically looks at age, health, tobacco use, coverage amount, and sometimes driving/occupation details.

How fast can I get covered?

Some carriers can approve quickly (sometimes same-day for certain amounts), while others take days or weeks. Timing depends on coverage amount, health history, and whether additional records are needed. See your options →

What’s the difference between Term, Final Expense, and IUL?

Term: bigger coverage for 10–30 years (great for income/mortgage protection).

Final Expense: smaller permanent coverage for funeral/immediate costs.

IUL: permanent coverage with flexibility and potential cash value (caps/floors apply).

How much coverage should a driver carry?

A quick rule is 10–15× annual take-home pay, plus mortgage/loans, minus existing coverage/savings. We’ll help you right-size it to your household and budget.

What if I’m between loads or take time off?

Your personal coverage doesn’t depend on dispatch or hours. Time off or a gap between jobs doesn’t cancel a policy — it stays active as long as premiums are current.
